"it's done." Romano said softly setting the last arrow down with the others "I doubt he'll wake for a day or so…" Germany nodded "at least he's alright…" they were interrupted in their thoughts by the voice of the little girl coming from just outside the barn "go away! We don't have any animals left for you to steel!" another gruffer voice answered her "we can see the tracks kid. There are horses in there now move aside." "no! those aren't ours you can't-" "we can and we will!" then came the sound of a slap and a thud as the girl cried out in pain. Romano stood and stretched "and I was just thinking I needed a little exercise." and with a smirk he left the room. Germany glanced at Italy and followed to stand just outside the door he watched as Romano climbed into the loft above to wait. As the barn door opened a small band of solders walked in "now those are some fine horses" one of them said with a whistle "yeah" another said smirking "and they're ours now." but before the men could take a step Romano called from out of sight "Vento! fulmine! indietro!" at the command the horses reared and bolted to the back of the barn the solders tried to give chance when Romano jumped from the loft and landed in front of them startled the solders all drew their swords Romano smiled "thank you so much for complementing our horses. But I think I must ask you to leave now." the solders laughed "an' oos gonna make us?" one of them asked in a thick accent Romano's smile grew Germany saw Romano glance his way and jerk his head slightly Germany understood and couldn't help but smile himself Romano looked back at the solders and with a shink! his blades appeared "I am." he said softly Germany grinned and yelled "assassin!" the solders all jumped and looked around confused. Before they could get their bearings Romano was there for a moment there was silence then one of the solders reached for his neck as red started to seep into his shirt before his body even hit the floor the others were running for their own life's "I can't let them get away" Romano said to Germany calling fulmine to his side "watch Feli till I get back" and with that he rode off.

Germany returned to the small room Japan had gone with the women to the house to make them food a while ago Germany wondered for a moment if they were ok but then he saw something that made his heart skip a beat. "it can't be… that's…"

France straitened up slowly he could hear footsteps coming toward the door of he room then he heard the lock click and in walked England "thought it over yet frog?" the brit asked his tone of voice was hard but France could tell that he was rather amused at having France locked up. France sighed softly "I doubt I'll ever stop thinking about it…" he said softly England was startled France had such a dead look in his eyes its like he had given up trying to even see out of then and just blurred it all out "I say old man… are you alright?" England stepped forward slightly a note of genuine concern in his voice. France sighed again "I doubt you could understand… if you want to try then close the door and I'll tell you everything…" England was surprised but did as he was told the creak of the door and the soft click masked Frances words "…thank you…"

Thoughts were rushing through Germanys head faces, voices, things he knew he had never seen but that were hear now and a voice, louder then the others, screaming out begging to be heard.

"mister Germany?" it was Japans voice but it sounded so far away… then a hand grabbed his shoulder shaking him "Germany!" germany opened his eyes gasping "are you alright?" Japan asked softly "I… I'm not sure…" Germany said trying to bring his mind back to the present "what happened?" Japan asked softly Germany sighed "I don't know…" this was a lie he knew exactly what had happened but he didn't know how to explain it to Japan

The silence was broken by Romano stumbling in Germany was surprised by the amount of blood covering his clothes but it only took a moment to realise that some of it was his "what happened?" Germany asked, comeing forward to help support Romano as he wobbled slightly "one of the bastardi had a coltello" Romano said through clenthed teeth "cough me in the side just before I stabed him…" Germany helped Romano over to a stool and helped him banddage the wound "it doesn't look to bad" Germany said "looks like it didn't hit anything vital" Romano looked at him "in my opinion its all vital." Germany allowed himself a small smile "then it didn't hit anything too vital." Japan brought them both a bowl of stew "here. Eat it while its still warm." they nodded their thanks. When they finished the food Romano sighed "we should get some sleep… Feli will probably wake up tomorrow." the others nodded and they all layed down. Germany stayed awake for a while wondering about the things he kept seeing… maybe they were something he'd forgotten? Maybe they were bits of his broken past comeing back to him… he wasn't sure but soon his brain was running in circles and he wasn't getting anywhere so he slowly went to sleep wondering if he would dream again tonight…
